Frequently asked questions

How does a foreign pharmaceutical company obtain a wholesale licence in Ukraine?

Through a Ukrainian legal entity that applies to the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control. The regulator checks premises, staff qualifications and the quality control system before issuing the licence. The process is comparable to an MHRA WDA(H) application in the UK.

Is a Ukrainian medical practice licence time-limited?

No, it is issued for an unlimited term. The state fee equals one subsistence minimum for able-bodied persons. Since 1 September 2026 the licensing conditions and list of specialties have been updated, so existing licensees should review their staffing.

Can cosmetics labelled under the old rules still be sold in Ukraine?

For now, yes. The transition period for the Technical Regulation on Cosmetic Products was extended to 31 July 2027 (CMU Resolution No. 976 of 29 July 2026). Products placed on the market before that date may continue to be sold if each batch is backed by primary documents such as invoices or customs declarations. New batches are best labelled under the Regulation already.

I received a tax assessment in Ukraine. What now?

Act quickly: the window for an administrative appeal is short — usually 10 working days from receipt. Send us the audit report and the assessment, and we will advise whether to appeal to the tax authority or go straight to court.

Is a business split in a Ukrainian divorce?

Yes. A company share acquired during the marriage with joint funds is taken into account. Usually the other spouse receives monetary compensation for part of the share's value rather than becoming a shareholder. Details depend on the articles, the timing of contributions and the evidence.

My child is being cyberbullied or had photos leaked. Who should instruct a lawyer?

Parents or other legal guardians sign the engagement. The lawyer speaks with the child in a parent's presence and in a way suited to the child's age. We first preserve evidence and request removal, while contacting the school and the police in parallel.

Do I need to come to your office?

No. For convenience we agree the case with you in a Zoom meeting, and later communication works the same way. You can also choose messenger, phone or email; bloggers can work with us by messenger only. The client chooses the channel.

Do you work in English?

Yes. We advise international clients in English and Ukrainian, including foreign manufacturers entering Ukraine and cross-border family cases.
